Will Image Capture recognize device not on USB/Firewire?

I am working on a twain scanner driver that connects to it's scanner over TCPIP. I want my scanner to show up under Image Capture. I believe that Image Capture only recognizes devices that show up in the I/O Registry under firewire or USB. Can anyone confirm this? I was considering using the IOKit sample (HelloI/OKit) that registers a resource based device to act as my connected scanner. But I don't want to do that if Image Capture only checks the USB and Firewire registry (tree limb?). Can anyone tell me if I can use a resource based device to show up in Image Capture?
