I am trying to get my twain driver to show up under Image Capture. I
am getting the uneasy feeling that Image Capture will not use the
twain interfaces to talk to my scanner. Does a scanner have to use the
Image Capture api's to be recognized by Image Capture? There doesn't
seem to be any clear documentation on how twain does or does not fit
into IC. Can anyone give me info on whether my twain scanner can be
integrated with IC?
IC can use TWAIN data sources via the IC TWAIN bridge. I think all you
have to do is put the right stuff in the plist of your TWAIN bundle.
I've done it, so I know it works (or at least it used to).
I think the plist additions are outlined in the latest IC SDK on
Apple's developer pages.
